plugged duct?

I keep getting the worst burning pain in my breast but its way up by my sternum not close by my nip. I cant feel a lump and its not red.  Its more of an area that just burns when touched or pressure is on my breast.  Does it sound like a plugged duct?  Tay has been nursing like normal.

LOL I feel so dumb, Ive never had this problem this late in nursing.  A new born yeah.  Boobs do crazy things.  But now were down to nap/night and comfort nursing( a snack or two during the day, so 5-6 times a day still)

There's also something along the lines of a plugged duct called a galactocele (Ga-lack-toe-seal). My dr tried every to unclog my duct before sending me to a breast specialist. It turns out that what went from a burning, uncomfortable small bump is now a golf ball size lump sticking out of my breast. Its harmless, slightly uncomfortable, filled with milk, but a little different than a simple clogged duct. I've lived with mine for 7 months, now. I'll probably have it another year since I'm still breastfeeding and pregnant again. I've had it biopsied, ultra sounded, there's a metal clip in place in my breast to watch the area for further problems in the future and I once had it drained. It came all the way back in 45 minutes. The breast specialist says it will disappear once I stop breastfeeding, but I can't testify to that just yet. Good luck.

I didnt know they were that far in the breast I thought they were more towards your arm pits.  DS just had a problem with his nodes being swollen.(The swelling next to his left leg.  I thought it was a hernia. The big lump below the arrow thats NOT on the other side.

I think I read earlier today in the breastfeeding mom's group that it's actually more common later in nursing like when they're half weaned or something. But I'm not sure, try asking over there. I only have a little bit of experience with clogged ducts if that's what it is.

It's not an engorgement issue since you've cut back on nursing, is it?

Hope you feel better soon :)

Im not currently engorged but did get full a few times in a row last week. =/  Shes been on this schedule for a few months but if shes cutting back its her not sucking and just for comfort and I havent noticed.(we cosleep so when its night time she latches ALL the time maybe I thought she was eating and has just been pacifing.)  Maybe shes selfweaning sooner than I thought she would :(

Its ice for mastitis and heat for a duct or the other way around?
