religious phrase that annoys the CRAP OUT OF ME

God is good

o man that annoys me.

I graduated suma cum laude and my sil said: God is good. um no. I did that. God didn't do my school work for me.

I had an injury and did not die. God is good, she says.. um no. I was injured. that sucks. I didn't die because it wasnt a severe injury.

I beleive in God. I do, but I do not believe he controls every aspect of my life. I believe God is all knowing he transcends time so he knows all possible scenarios in my life. I do not believe he interferes in any way though. I do thank God and pray, but the phrase God is Good annoys the crap out of me. Especially when people act like they are leaving things up to God. That makes me feel like they are giving up and not taking responsibility for it

my sister as a small child would say at dinner: god is great. god is good. let us thank him for the food. rub a dub dub yae god. my dad would get so mad but i thought it was cute so yea, thats what I think of

My mom says something similar. "Its a God thing!"

This is the second post today along those lines.  You are absolutely correct, God does not control every aspect of our lives, that is why he gave us free will.  He also tells us in the bible that "Time and unforeseen occurence befalls us ALL".
