I know it's wrong, but I'm kinda proud

Posted by   + Show Post

Apparently there was this kid trash talking my son at school.  My son is 17; he is a Junior.

Well, Tristan (my son) had enough.  The kids decided to meet up and "duke it out."

By the time the fight was stopped, and the kids were hauled into the principal's office, the Principal thought this was going to go down as an assault on my son.  Pretty much, my kid beat the other kid's ass.

After watching school video, it is classified as a fight.  Both kids met up in a area of the school they weren't supposed to be in.  And they both fought.  But kid took the upper hand.

They are both suspended for 3 days.  And while I will never tell my son this, I'm kinda proud that he kicked ass and didn't get his ass kicked.

Horrible, right?

It's the fact that she called him delayed that required the "um huh?" I'm sure.

Quoting xomrsweaver:

I never said they did but with the "um huh" comment is your acting like what she said is impossible when its not.

Uh... Good for you. Most kids do not.

Quoting xomrsweaver:

uh...I graduated at 16.

Quoting Anonymous:

Um huh? Most kids graduate at 18-19.

Yes, you are horribly immature.  fighting isn't the way to solve a problem, and now you've missed an opportunity to teach your son that.  Why is he so delayed too?  my children were a junior in HS at 15, graduated at 16.  Maybe if he didn't spend his time in trouble....

You know what? Sometimes a bully just needs the shit kicked out of him/her to learn a lesson. I would be secretly proud too.

I graduated at 16, a year EARLY! Skipped a grade. He's not delayed. How odd. Why is it ok for him to get bullied and not stand up for himself? She also said she wasn't telling him that.

She did say that she knows it's wrong. Is it so terrible for her to be proud of her son for knowing how to defend himself?

Also, that is not that much of a delay. My nephew is also 17 and a Junior. He is a very smart kid. He is in the National Honor Society, in Student Government, in a variety of clubs and sports, does community service and most of his classes are honors.

A few months ago he was in the boys locker room changing and a kid THOUGHT he threw a deoderant at him and began to punch him in the face. My nephew wasn't just going to stand there and let it happen to him, so he fought back. The other kid ended up with more damage. They both got suspended. I was VERY proud of him because he defended himself.

If some kid goes up to one of your kids and start beating them up, would you want them to just lay there and take it?

I totally agree. Gee I wonder what her name is? No class.

Quoting Crazy-Steph:

What?  Did you READ the post?  Tristan is the one that kicked ass.

Where did all of the bitches come from today?  Who decided that today was the day it is okay to insult kids?

Quoting Anonymous:

He was probably getting his ass kicked because his name is Tristan. Horrible.

i would be too. i had posted in questions something like this. except it happened to my 7yo daughter. the boy knocked her down then stepped on her hand, soon as she got a good shot, she kicked him a good one.

but in her defense she had told the teacher on duty and they didn't do anything about it. the boy had to leave school and was out the next day too. when he came back he stayied far away from her as did the other boys.
