Get a marshmallow (or small treat they love) set a timer for 15 mins. Tell them if they wait the 15 mins to eat the treat they can have 2. If they do not wait they can only have the one.
Children who waited the 15 mins were proven to be smarter, be adjusted and to have less mental and drug problems!

My kids two. There's no way a marshmallow would last 5 minutes. Let alone 15.

I couldn't wait 15 minutes before eating those marshmellows!
Well, my kid is screwed. :P
Maybe I'll try it with crackers (she loves crackers, we don't have marshmellows).
