we got our son 2 betta fish last week. the instructions says to clean the bowl (by dumping out half the water and refilling) once a week.

i've already done it 2 times since we've had them (not even a week) and everyday the water gets more cloudy and the tank starts to smell.

what am i doing wrong!?

Idk ours has a 2.5 gallon tank with a filter. Is your bowl too small?

Either the bowl is too small or you are feeding them too much. Or both.

They have water conditioner for beta water. Also, buy a food that specifically says it won't cloud the water.

Looking at the tag now. How much are you feeding them? Is the bowl in sunlight?
