So I have to buy my 6 year old a new car seat

Because hers expires soon and she's not 40 pounds yet. I really don't have a lot to spend (ill actually be buying 2 because my 5 year old is getting too tall for hers) but she still has to be harnessed. Any suggestions?

I second this. I have 2 of them and LOVE them. My 5 almost 6 year old still is  in it and is very comfortable.

That doesn't make it safe, or in most places legal. To be in a booster, kids need to be a minimum of 4yrs old, 40lbs, and fully booster trained. MOST 4yr olds are not mature enough to be in a booster, as they could not it still, not fall asleep and slump over, reach for a toy that dropped ect.
