I read today that pregnant women shouldn't lay on their backs because is cuts off blood flow to the brain. Wtf?

You CAN lay on your back but it's best to lay on your left side.

After 16 weeks you shouldn't lay on your back. It cuts the oxygen supply to your baby. Sleeping on your left side is the best

If you believe this, you certainly don't need to risk it.

I always slept on my back when I was pregnant. IT was the onl way I was comfortable.........lol maybe that is why I am such an airhead after I had a kid.

This is true. I am sure there will be a ton of "I did it and my baby is fine" which may be true BUT it is advised NOT to lay on your back for you and baby. If in doubt ask the OBGYN you've entrusted you and your babies well being to.

You can. Just put a pillow under one side. It doesnt cut off oxygen to the brain it can pinch the veina cava. ( I think I just totally butchered that spelling) that is the main artery to the uterus and lower body and happens because of the weight of the uterus.
