YOU SMELL SO CLEAN YOURSELF WHY IS ARGUMENT EVEN HAPPENING?

My son WHO IS SEVEN DAMN YEARS OLD.  Walked into the room and the smell of poo wafted in with him.

I asked him nicely, "sweety, did you have an accident?"

He goes and checks.  Comes back out.  I gag on the smell as he comes out. "Nope. I'm fine."

Still calmly and nicely I say "Honey you need to go change your underwear and pants and wash up please, I can smell you."

Oh dear long.  "NO! I DON"T WANT TO CLEAN.  I DIDN'T MESS  MYSELF. I'M NOT GOING TO CHANGE."

I got him to go clean by calmly talking to him but in my head I was thinking "Really??? If you stink so badly you are making people gag why wouldn't you WANT to go clean your self??" ugh.  Nasty.

ANyhoo... I know I will have to explain now or make later edits soooo, my kid has special needs. He has a few struggles with things (like potty training)

He is made to do the clean up himself without help for a reason, becuase when he has a habit of being "helpless" and because when I help him clean up his poop messes, he does them even more.  YAY!

And, lastly, I don't say these things to him and I'm never mean or shame him.  But I am a human, I get frustrated and grossed out and I vent about it.  ;)

end rant.
