Would you go out of town alone when you just had a baby?
So I am due mid June (I also have a DD who will be 14 by then) and my family routinely goes to Reno just for fun (Kind of family tradition when one of us turns 21, etc.). Well my parents go there for their anniversary every year (This will be 35 years for them, so they're going to Reno and then Hawaii for 2 weeks) and they want all of their kids to go. Well only 2 out of 4 of us kids are the only ones that ever can afford to go any where vacation wise, but Hawaii is definately out of the question for us. I don't want to leave my son with someone for a week (I would obviously take DH and DD but I dont want to go to HA with a 4 month old) and DH HATES gambling so Reno is out. Well the other night, my parents said "Hey, you just come for a couple days. It will be a blast". So my DH said GO. Have fun! I will stay with the kids, you're only going to be gone 3 days and he HATES casinos. I on the other hand, LOVE casinos and LOVE gambling. My other brother will be there with his wife and her and I are really close, along with my mom. My dad and brother like to do their own thing, and I would have girl time with my mom. I just don't know how I feel about leaving my 4 month old for a few days. I love my DH for wanting me to get out and have some fun but that is SOO young to be leaving him. Would you do it?
Yes, I would. I'll actually be heading to DC for 3 days when my son is 5 months old for work. I trust my husband to watch the baby for a few days and I'll get away for a little bit and time to recharge. It's only 3 days and you're leaving him with his dad, so I don't really see an issue with it.
I am seriously considering it! I have a blast staying out until 6am on a slot not worrying if DH is having fun or not. We went to reno a few years ago, and while he was a good sport, he was bored. We went to Vegas too and he liked it a little better because there is WAY more to do. And plus, for around 300 I could get round trip and stay in a nice room at the elderado (Personally I think that's the nicest casino there) for 3 nights and it's only an hour 1/2 flight! Thank you!
Quoting Ms.Pink.:
I'd go
Oh I totally trust DH :o) The longest I have ever left my 13 yr old DD was like 4 days and that was for camp. LOL! Thank you!
