I didn't pay the bill, so they turned it off

My heat is off and it's like 20 degrees out. My DD is 2 years old. She needs to be warm.

So, I have my oven set to 500 and left open. I am hoping it'll warm up the house. Is this a bad idea? How much electricity does that use? I can't really afford too much.

It's a really bad idea. If this is real...you'd be better off getting a space heater.

Honestly, I remember being younger (maybe 7), and my dad did that.  The whole house was warmed by the oven for a day or two until the heat got fixed.  It will work.

We had power, so I think maybe something was wrong with the furnace or something...not sure, but I remember watching tv, so I'm sure the power was on.

I think the op is a troll who can't even come up with a decent post.

However everyone who keeps responding the way you did...needs to step out of their bubble once in a while.

Go to a local thrift shop.  I just left the Goodwill by my office and they had several radiator type heaters for $10 a piece.  Also had a kerosene heater.  Try there.

I'm not abusing my child. I just couldn't pay the bill. I do not deserve to have CPS on me.

Quoting Anonymous:

I hope CPS is called on you. Pay your bills. And yes its dangerous to do what you are.
