If someone shoots into someone's house and shoots a person who is pregnant and they lose the baby is that felony murder? I ask because a guy I went to school with is charged with felony murder for doing this.

If a murder occurs during a felony, it's felony murder. Unlawful discharge of a firearm is a felony. If his gun was unregistered, it's a felony.

State law and gestational age play a role.

I watch true crime shows all the time.... The ID channel is my addiction..LOL! YES! It can be felony murder. He shot into a house! He meant to do harm and he didn't care who was in the way! It could have been a child sleeping in his/her bed! I think he SHOULD be charged with felony murder! And like she said, he can get charged with a double homicide if both the baby and mother are killed!

If he's being charged with it then it must be felony murder. But since you feel the opinion of a bunch of strangers on CafeMom who most likely have no legal expertise is higher than that of the detectives and prosecuters, yes, I believe it should be charged as felony murder.
