My dd has had the flu and strep and has missed several days of school this year. Fast forward to yesterday. Dd has had temps of like 100.3, 100.5, 100.6, etc. we kept her home and took her to the pediatrician yesterday. (She also had a tummy ache. The doctor looked her over and said it's a cold send her to school (and sent a note w/ her). He says, unless her temp is over 101, she needs to go to school. Dd vomited once last night and still has a 100 fever of and on. WTF am I suppose to do? She doesn't feel great but her doc says send her to school? I'm terrified of truancy laws and her school requires dr's notes. IDK what to do?

Wtf you want to send a kid to school vomiting and with a fever?
A kid should be fever free without meds and vomiting free for a min of 24 hours before sending them to school.
If my 8 year old catches the stomach bug, it is an automatic stay in the hospital. Do not send your kid to school sick.
Not only is it bad for your child, you now choose to infect everyone at school.

If she is vomiting I'd keep her home.

I would explain the situation to the teacher. Then tell her if you DD starts to feel worse or sick at all give you a call & you'll pick her up. I definitely would make the teacher(s) aware of it.

If she's thrown up and not feeling good I would keep her home. If she only had a little temperature but was acting/feeling normal I would send her.
