NO ONE is "entitled" to nice things

unless you buy them with your OWN money.  If you find yourself on PA , you need to get rid of some of those "luxuries" you have. I am sorry, but no one is entitled to anything but the basics to keep you alive(shelter, food and clothing and health care if need be(that can be bought in discount stores). Many people(including myself) have had to downsize or make major cuts. You have to as well.

I live well below my means and do it to protect my families future.  Many on the dole will never get out of that horrible situation without some major life changes.

People stay in situations such as those because they choose to by making bad choices, feeling entitled and by not taking the initiative to change....

Ummm. Actually the majority of people,on PA are on temporarily and use it to get on their feet. And they DO sacrifice in ways you probably will never understand. Im so tired of this meme of the welfare queen. It's  just a way to demonize the poor.  I thought as a society we already realized that and moved passed it after rhe Reagan admin but apparently not everyone.....Also, who they hell are you to tell anyone what they do and do not deserve?

NO, this is not a PA bashing post.  No one should go without the basics, food, clothing etc.. but if you find yourself in a situation where you need PA, you have to go without.  I have never been on PA, but several years ago when I was pushed out of my long term full time job, I had to make major cuts.  I had to go without.    While our income is still decent, I still have to be frugal to make sure my family has a future that does not include financial disaster. I never even had a flat screen tv before, lol.  Not that I could not afford it, it is just we would rather that money be put away.   Reading posts from people who are struggling and on PA, some of them think they still deserve luxaries.  Sorry, but they do not.  Work yourself out of that horrible situation you are in.  Disney vacations are not a part of the package, sorry.  When I have gone on vacations in the past, I saved for it with my own money.  Not relying on federal tax refunds to fund it when I did not have a pot to piss in or a window to throw it out of.

We are currently on foodstsmps. Its our last month. DH just got a great job starting monday...I just picked up a PT job to work weekends AND I am about to start selling Pure Romance. We have to make like $2600 to get cut off...and between the 3...we should definitely bring in way more than that. Our bills are just 2 straighttalk phones electric rent and truck payment. We have like $1100 in bills per month...and dont intend on adding anymore bils anytime soon.
