Yes, you read that right. I am getting my mothers taxes back. She's still very behind on child support! Good thing too because I need new shoes. Just had to share my happiness!!

Edit to clarify:

My mother had a tendency to be flaky on the job and wouldn't work on and off for years. When she would start a new job she would "fail" to tell child support enforcement. As a result she fell deeply into arrears. For the last 10 years she wouldn't file her taxes in order to catch up either. A couple years ago she decided that it was time for her to grow up so she told the child support office where she was working and had a set amount taken out every week. My father didn't see the point in receiving that child support since I no hadn't lived with him for several years so he gave me the card. I usually get a little more than $20 a week and use it for gas.

My mother has been behind on her child support for years and hasn't filed taxes for the last 10 years at least. This year she filed and child support seizes them because she is in arrears.

My father decided that I would need it more. Usually it's only a little more than $20 a week. I put gas in my car with it.
