Take your kid to work.

Do you work at a job that you can bring your child with you? If your kid is out of school for some reason, and you have no sitter, would you call out or are you able to bring them to work with you?

No, I couldn't bring him to work with me. I am an ER nurse. My husband also could not, he is a paramedic. So if kid is sick one of us stays home.

At my old job, absolutely not. I worked in a nursing home.

My job lets us. I don't bring my son in though. Some of the other ladies do... I just think it's too much to have kids running around here touching everything, etc.

Where do you work, or what line of work are you in?

Yes, I could but rarely did. I had an office. But I taught nursing to adult students, and whenever the teachers could, on class days not hospital days, if we had a student whose maxed out absence hours would kick them out of school because they had no emergency daycare, we would make a corner for their child come to class. Just once was the unspoken rule. Our philosophy was school was a job and subject to strict attendance policies.
