HRBlock & TurboTax are both deceiving

Both HRBlock and TurboTax well you that you qualify for free state tax filing if you live in one of the following states

AR, AZ, DE, GA, IA, ID, IN, KY, MI, MN, MO, MS, ND, NC, NY, OK, OR, RI, SC, VA, VT, WV, DC.

My state return is in Missouri which IS one of those states but every year they try and charge me $30 for it. I don't understand this?? I have to call in every year and get a key code and wait 2 hours for a representative. Its just so frustrating AND its false advertising. They have made deals with these states for their residents to file free returns so it just frustrates me. Even at the end of the filing when I go to complete it, it says this:

Free Edition state return (MO)   -     $27.95

It basically contradicts itself. Anyone else have this issue every year?

*update*

After waiting on hold for an hour I finally got through and they gave me a key code again to make it free like it should be.

No, if you live in certain states the state returns are also free. As stated on this page.

Were Military as well. I don't go on base to get it done though because I can never get in or have anyone to watch DD (she cant sit there while I get them done). So I do them online myself.

I live in Ohio and my state is free every year when I used H&R Block.

I don't ever get much back from the state though so idk if that makes a difference.
