One of our disabled workers got fired :(

We have this guy who is disabled working for us. He doesn't talk well and he can't walk well either. He does his best though. He stocks stuff in the back. He's been there longer than I have, nearly 15 years now.

Well we got a whole new managment/owners and they fired him :( They said he was too slow and disabled or not, he can't be that slow so he got the boot. I feel so bad for him. He's 59 years old, what will he do now? It isn't often that jobs like this come up for someone like him.

I'm so angry at the owners and managment for doing this to him.

Wow, what assholes!

I hope there is a way he can sue for discrimination or something. I imagine he qualifies for SSI but in many areas that isn't enough to live off of.

That's a damned shame. Is a local place or a national chain?

He doesn't want to but I know some people who are very close to him are looking in to it. I don't know if he gets SSI or not(I imagine he does) but he was doing so well for himself having this job. He has his own house, he does yard work for his neighbors for some extra cash, and he tries his hardest at work every day.

It's a shame to see someone in the world who is truly trying to work and take care of himself and he's shut down.

Start a petition on change.org.  A national chain will reverse if they get enough bad publicity.  We fill all of our prescriptions there.  I am going to check into sending them an email.  Can you pm me any details of location of the particular walgreens?
