7-year-old tattoo artist-in-training follows in daddy’s footsteps

Alicia Gutierrez of Abilene, Texas, has moved on from coloring books to skin, demonstrating skill at an early age. Father Patrick Gutierrez began when he was 14 and has full faith daddy’s little girl will be ready for the world before then.

Dad is all praise about his daughter, 7-year-old Alicia Gutierrez, who is training to tattoo like daddy.

A 7-year-old girl is making her mark, following in daddy’s footsteps to be a tattoo artist.

Pint-sized Alicia Gutierrez is taking up the family craft. She’s moved on from coloring books to real skin, practicing the art of ink at her father’s Abilene, Texas, tattoo parlor. She’s good, too, staying inside the lines of a flower design on a man’s arm as she deftly maneuvered a buzzing needle while showing off forNewsFix.

Father Patrick Gutierrez started tattooing when he was 14, but pops wants little Alicia applying her own ink at an even younger age. Wearing a pink “Future tattoo artist” T-shirt, Alicia was all smiles as Patrick praised his baby girl.

"By the age of 10 or 12, she’s going to be pretty good,” dad said of 7-year-old Alicia Gutierrez.

“If she keeps up what she’s doing now, she draws a lot and watches me a lot, so by the age of 10 or 12, she’s going to be pretty good,” Patrick said.

I think this is weird.. but think about it- it's NO different than a pro athlete teaching their child the sport they play so they can grow up and make good money from doing it too.

Im willing to bet she's going to be famous one day for her work.

And? She's not getting tattoos, she learning how to do them. If that is truly what she wants to do, awesome.

I love this story. My son 11 has 25 fake tattoos and wants to be a tattoo artist also.
