What is the smallest place you have lived in(with your husband and kids)

My 3 year old son  and baby daughter along with dh lived in a cramped apartment that was much like the size of a studio. The only difference is it had two rooms. It was around 450-500 square feet inside the place(there was storage and a very small deck).

So now we are in a place that is roughly 850. It's amazing what difference that makes lol.

Oh and dd has her own room now and not out in living room.

Are we talking pre babies or post babies? Pre babies the smallest was 1200. Post babies our house currently is 2400. We are looking at a 3500sq ft home.

I live in a 1 br basement apartment with my husband and daughter right now. I'm going to say between 500 and 600 square feet. It's definitely a tight squeeze, hopefully we can get a bigger place soon.

I hope so too!! That is very tight.

Ex husband and I started out in an efficiency apartment when we had our DD. And then when DS was born we all lived in a small ass 1 bed apt.

I honestly love the townhouse that I live in now with my kids and SO.

wow...didn't you go a little nuts? I would.

Oh I did go nuts with the 4 of us in the small 1 bed apt. I felt like I lived in a shoe box the entire time. luckily we only lived there for a year (Until our lease ran out) and we got a house. but we divorced and dumb dumb let the house go into foreclosure.

I can hardly imagine. I went nuts in our home. Our kitchen was tiny. Bathroom was tiny. I felt like I was Alice in Wonderland when she grew and the house was tiny. We were all bumping into eachother...in eachothers way. There wasn't much room for ds to play about and dd to crawl. She picked up on it here.

A year is a long time but lucky it wasn't more than that for you. I guess it's not long but for a place that small I imagine it to be.

Damn..how.what did he do?

it was just 3 of us until DS was born 8 months into our lease. it was really cramped after that and I hated my kitchen. I had no room to do anything. everything was along one wall. no counter space and about 1ft of kitchen floor.

He decided to take over the finances and instead of paying the bills he started going out and partying with his brother (who lived with us as well) and then cheated on me and left. At least my name wasn't on the mortgage so it was his credit that got screwed.

We lived in a 2 bedroom 2 bath apartment about 900 sf with our 3 kids. We now live in a 4 bedroom 2 bath (1 story, I have a bad knee) house that is about 2000 sf. Love the space, hate the extra cleaning.

Edit: We only lived there for 6 months with 3 kids, before that we only had 2 kids.

Oh YES!!! The counter space. I know about that one. In our kitchen it was so dang cramped that I could spread my legs and touch one foot on the bar wall an the other on the sink door! The fridge would hit the wall. The counter space and trying to cook in a hurry or when dh needed the space, I would get out and vice versa. The bathroom was tiny and hard to clean...

What a jackass. Good thing it was just his credit!

Small kitchens are a deal breaker for me now. I need that counter space since I tend to spread out while i cook ^_^ And I prefer open floor plans now. Small closed off rooms make me feel like I'm in a damn box.

An 900sq ft apartment while our house was being built.  We only had one baby back then though.

:) Our current kitchen isn't HUGE but holy crap the landlords expression when I said wow this is a huge kitchen( we were in the process of moving). I wonder what he thought ha ha. It's duable and I don't feel cramped. I can walk around. My son can also be in there . Oh yes our bedroom, I felt like I was in a damned box. It was tiny. I was pregnant and in that room as well. The bed was close to the wall. I had to scoot around and get out of bed( we have no headboard).
