Are you or s/o a cigarette smoker?

Are you or your so/dh a smoker of cigarettes? If you are how long have you been smoking? How old are your kids? Do you smoke in front of your kids? Do you feel bad you smoke and have kids?

I used to be a smoker. I would quit when I got pregnant and about a month or so after I had my baby would start back up. I felt so bad that I smoked but never ever smoked around my kids where they would smell it directly. I felt bad that they would smell it (I did try using special clothes and washing my hands as well as using mouth wash every time). I felt bad when ever anyone would say "your never going to live to see your kids grow up" or hearing doctors tell me how bad it was (know how bad it is). I hated the dirty looks I would get if I got out of the car to have a smoke if we were on a drive (only if it was longer than 2 or 3 hours).

I also loved it and still have cravings for it. I loved the chance to take a brake for a little while. I loved the taste (it was never really the smoke so much for me). I loved being able to go to the casino and sit down with my hubby and play some penny slots and have a smoke. I loved that some how and for some reason smoking always gave me a reason to talk to others when we all would take a break from work or school. I would have a smoke when I would get very much stressed out instead of taking high dose of anti anxiety pills (anxiety runs through my family and my aunt in particular is on a high dose one *can not remember what kind* but it makes her drool and pass out I do not want that I have two kids) I liked having a cigarette if I just needed to relax. I do not smoke anymore currently pregnant but half of me says don't smoke and half of me says smoke (when the baby is born).

How about it do or have you felt that way before and how did or do you feel?

My SO smokes. He has since high school. He smokes downstairs and isn't allowed to hold my 4-month-old until he changes his shirt, chews gum and washes his hands. He's the one who set up the regimen. He plans to quit but it's on his time, unfortunately.

I've never smoked, but craved a cigarette like crazy with both my pregnancies. I don't let myself try it cause I'd probably never stop, lol.

Goodluck momma, if you do it for 9 months you can do it for good. Thank you for not smoking while pregnant.

I don't smoke, and never have. My DH has been smoking for about 9 years. Our kids are 10 yrs, 8 yrs, and almost 3 yrs. He has never smoked around our kids. I don't know if he feels bad about being a smoker.

We both quit within the last 4 months :)

Now we look down on you stinky smokers.

Jk, but we are both thrilled to be done with that awful addiction.

I use to smoke but the day I found out I was pregnant I stopped. Now I hate the smell of smoke it is just a nasty habit. I refuse for ds to be around smoke or for anyone to hold him or touch him that smokes
