This is somewhat of a spin-off.  On another thread someone said 90% of posters are American (as in from the USA).  I wonder if this is true

You are being a bit nitpicy - which is funny as your 90% thing is probably right!!!  No nitpicking when you are winning,  lol.

You would have to live in Canada, establish a certain length of time of residency here in order to be allowed the benefits of the Canadian health care.  A pregnant woman from Lebanon with dual citizenship in my city came back to Canada to have her baby.  Only to find out she wouldn't qualify for the health care here and would end up with a $21,0000 hospital bill to have her baby in a Canadian hospital.

Quoting KristenFowles:

i've heard that too!!!   You know what, I don't know if I am allowed Canadian health care!  ... I should look into it!  I've never thought to.. I have a feeling I'd have to live in Canada.. I've been trying to talk my DH into moving to Canada for YEARS.. One day I think I'll convince him ;)

Maine is purty.  I have heard that Canada allows dual citizenship but the USA does not.  Is this true?  Are you allowed our health care and stuff (I can share!) or do you have to live here and pay taxes for it?

Quoting KristenFowles:

Yup.  Born in America... I have dual citizenship with Canada though due to my grandfather being Canadian..  I live in Maine.

I was born here. So were my parents, maternal grandparents and maternal great grandparents. I don't know much about my dads side so I don't know where his parents or grandparents were born.
