First state to pass the law that teachers and other school officials can carry guns on them. Begins in June. How do you ladies feel about this. I'm on the fence with this one.

Would you not care if it was your state? Your kid's school?

No, not really.

It's only recently that people have been so crazy with guns...

Back when my mom was going to school most boys had filled gun racks on the back of their trucks, hunting permits were exchanged over lunch tables, deer would be brought back later and divided up between whoever put in a permit...Now kids are going crazy with guns, but they're not any less accessible to them now than they were back then...If one goes crazy at a school, maybe it's a good Idea that someone there has a gun too.

As long as they are trained and qualified to carry said guns, I have no issue with it.

I'd like our teachers to be able to protect children if some crazy person enters a school. Less children would die I'm sure

I don't live in South Dakota, so it doesn't matter to me.

The state left it up to each individual school district so the school boards will have to get together and discuss it. When I was growing up very often kids and teachers had guns in their gun rack of their vehicle. I dont think many of the school boards will let it pass but if they do I wouldnt have too big of a problem with it.

I have a friend who is a teacher. He said the day they pass a law like that here, is the day he finds a new career, and he loves teaching, has a Master's degree in it. I think it's way too much to put on a teacher, and ridiculous that people are so ignorant to think it would solve anything.
