At stores, asking for donations to help cover the cost of your wedding then you shouldn't be getting married.
My best friend honestly knows someone who is doing this.

I know someone who did that to help with court cost because they were drunk driving. O.o

Someone seriously needs to scale back their wedding plans. Weddings DO NOT need to cost thousands of dollars ... actually, it's really stupid that people pay more than a couple hundred for a wedding.

Is the donation jar at least honest about the intended cause? Also, what shop owner would allow that selfishness?

Sure did. I used to work in a bar, and that 'jar' went out quite a few times. I have seen it for attorney fees for a custody case , bail $ for a  guy who was in jail for  back cs, funral fund for this fat lady named Lisa was high and crashed into a ditch and died. WTF?

Ours cost about $500. $300 was our wedding bands. Rest was court costs, my dress.

Or just don't be selfish and stupid and pay for the wedding you can afford...
