Mom Confessions Mom Confessions

my confession: I've turned into the crazy bfing lady..

Posted by   + Show Post
ladies, you know the type. There's always that one lady who INSISTS you breastfeed. She constantly points out the benifits of breastfeeding and gives you a million facts..

I used to laugh at that lady. I never understood why women pushed ff moms soo much. Don't get me wrong, I know women have their reasons for not bfing & it's none of my buisness. but why not atleast TRY?

I was with my friend recently & she said she tried bfing for two days but her milk wouldnt come in, so she substituted with formula. and she got really engorged and didnt know what to do cause her baby was sleeping.

I found myself begging her to try again (it was only a week later & she still had some milk) I tried to get her to pump, tried to get her to put baby to breast first thing in the AM. she said she'd try it...but I think that was to shut me up. Her baby is 2mo. now & I STILL find myself trying to get her to pump or try again since she's still making milk.

I guess Im just a little sad that she's missing out on such an amazing experiance. So there it is, Im the crazy bf-ing mom!

I never had an infant so I never had to "try" but if I did I wouldn't try anyway. Making my kid convulse because of my meds would not be an option.

In the hospital after I had my daughter I was afraid that my baby was starving because I didnt know how to bf, nor was my milk coming in. I had faith though. Especially since my doctor let me know that at first its difficult and to not stop trying. I alternated feeding my baby pre-made Similiac from a cough syrup medicine cup and just letting my baby just suck on my breasts. It took a while but I didnt give up. it worked.

My youngest son was getting more blood in his mouth than milk. I didn't want him to become a vampire. So nursing was out for us.

Don't be that friend.....a true friend does not judge let her be.

So your in this group because?.......

Quoting Anonymous:

eh. I tried breastfeeding with both of my kids. I really wanted to breastfeed. but it just didn't work out. If I have anymore kids, I will not even attempt to breastfeed cuz it was such a bad experience for me. I can't go thru trying and failing again. breastfeeding is not for everybody and would never force it on anybody. as long as baby is being fed and loved and cared for, thats all that matters.

I couldnt and wouldnt see myself pressuring someone into breastfeeding. If they ask my opinion, I'd be glad to give advice. But people do what they want with their children It's ultimately their decision. No one can tell me what to do with my Children.

My friends were so helpful when I was breastfeeding..I gave myself a goal of 3 months when I hit it they encouraged me to go another 3 by then I was exclusively pumping cause I went back to work. Once I hit that I ended up going until my daughter was 14 months and it was all thanks to them. .my family did not support me one bit cause they thought it wasn't filling her up during feedings (no one in my family breastfed their children). You are a good friend. We need more like you :)
