my confession: I've turned into the crazy bfing lady..

Posted by   + Show Post
ladies, you know the type. There's always that one lady who INSISTS you breastfeed. She constantly points out the benifits of breastfeeding and gives you a million facts..

I used to laugh at that lady. I never understood why women pushed ff moms soo much. Don't get me wrong, I know women have their reasons for not bfing & it's none of my buisness. but why not atleast TRY?

I was with my friend recently & she said she tried bfing for two days but her milk wouldnt come in, so she substituted with formula. and she got really engorged and didnt know what to do cause her baby was sleeping.

I found myself begging her to try again (it was only a week later & she still had some milk) I tried to get her to pump, tried to get her to put baby to breast first thing in the AM. she said she'd try it...but I think that was to shut me up. Her baby is 2mo. now & I STILL find myself trying to get her to pump or try again since she's still making milk.

I guess Im just a little sad that she's missing out on such an amazing experiance. So there it is, Im the crazy bf-ing mom!

just convulsing? eh. no biggie..

(joking, joking)

I meant for moms who didnt have to worry about meds/drinking ect.

Quoting AliKatAK47:

I never had an infant so I never had to "try" but if I did I wouldn't try anyway. Making my kid convulse because of my meds would not be an option.

oh, thats horrible! I went through that the first month of bf-ing. I stopped nursing and started pumping and my lac. consultant gave me a special medicated cream. Pumping hurt like hell too. I dont blame ya!

Quoting Bianca008:

My youngest son was getting more blood in his mouth than milk. I didn't want him to become a vampire. So nursing was out for us.

Don't be that friend.....a true friend does not judge let her be.

Did no one tell her that it can take awhile for your milk to come in, but what baby gets in the beginning is beneficial.

my mom really supported & helped me bf. (showed me how to latch him ect) but then after 3mo. she was telling me it was time to wean (my goal was 6mo) and I wouldn't & it made her mad (she always wanted to babysit but I didnt wanna leave ds's side lol)

my nipples were super cracked, soar, bleeding & I had to use a sheild so I almost quit.

but Im glad I didnt cause a little after 4mo we finally got the hang of things & now he's 9mo going strong. Im so proud of myself :)

Quoting EvasMommy326:

My friends were so helpful when I was breastfeeding..I gave myself a goal of 3 months when I hit it they encouraged me to go another 3 by then I was exclusively pumping cause I went back to work. Once I hit that I ended up going until my daughter was 14 months and it was all thanks to them. .my family did not support me one bit cause they thought it wasn't filling her up during feedings (no one in my family breastfed their children). You are a good friend. We need more like you :)
