It is, in fact, possible to extend the life of your flour by storing it in the refrigerator.

HOWEVER...

Flour is very moisture sensitive, and it easily picks up other flavors and smells.  If refrigerated, flour should always be stored in an air-tight container and be back to room temperature prior to use.

Please, ladies... No more of this bag of flour in the refrigerator door business.  That's nasty.  (No, I do not care if your grandma did it.)  Just dump it in a container.  I promise that your food will taste better.

i use it so rarely anymore that every time i need flour i have to buy it again because it is stale/bad...whatever....

I live in FL so everything goes in the fridge. I don't trust that bugs won't get into it.

 Who has room in their fridge for flour?  I put mine in a tupperware container in the pantry.  Just like my mom and grandma did.  I have seriously never heard of anyone putting it in the fridge.
