My cousin is deaf/hearing impaired. She is amazing at reading lips and very smart (college degree).
So today, after months of trying to get her to enroll her ds into my ds school. We finally go to drop off his enrollment packet etc. Well the teachers kept talking to me and asking me questions. I'm not the freaking mom. She's standing next to me. If you have a question, ask her. If she needs me to interpret, she will ask me. Ugh. It pissed me off more than it did her. I guess she's used to it, idk. Either way its rude!

I agree! I have a hearing impaired friend who has the same issue at times. It's annoying.

Agreed! I would have politely asked them to speak to her as she is his mother.

I like having help hearing.  It's not rude to me.

While it may be impolite, at least they seem to be trying to facillitate good communication. Politely redirct them next time. Bow out of the conversation. Hang back if she can handle it on her own.

I probably would do the same thing inadvertently. Also, a college degree makes you "very smart"?.

just shows no matter how you try to show respect to someone or try not to be rude or trynot to make someone uncomfortable no matter what you do you're still being rude

You know what else is rude...yelling at blind people...people are slightly dumb when it comes to these things.
