Embarrassed to be her mommy!!
My 4.5 year old daughter is really acting out, and I'm getting tired of it. She has developed this nasty ass attitude. Part of it comes from being around her cousins, and part of it comes from being influenced by her peers in pre-k. I'm trying everything to curb her negative behavior (except hitting, which I won't do EVER), but nothing seems to be working. She has been recently diagnosed with GAD (generalized anxiety disorder), so I'm trying to discipline with that in mind.
Any ideas? We're visiting relatives right now (for two weeks), and she is embarrassing me to death with her behavior.
Sorry,no advice about that. I can't imagine my children making me that upset though. My DD is 20 and DS is 17 and I haven't been embarrassed by there behavior. Hope you can figure things out though.
Explain to her that you don't care how her cousins or other children are allowed to act. Let her know that will NOT be tolerated and that if she wants to angry mommy she will. Use positive reinforcement and praise her when you leave a place (store, restaurant, doc office) and she behaved herself. Best of luck to you!
