Not in the least. I have brown hair and brown eyes (almost black) and an oval face. People never thought they were my children, yet when I'd take my adopted brother out who was only ten years younger than me, people would think I was his mom.
My children were born with copper hair and blue eyes that turned green when they got older, and a square jawline. My son's hair darkened to a light brown with age, but my daughter's is still the same color as a new penny.

My oldest looks just like I do, she always has. My son looks just like my brothers. One of my nephews was looking through a photo album and saw a picture of his dad as a kid and asked my son where it was taken. My son told him that was not him but my nephew's dad. My youngest daughter looks like my husband's mother. Right down to facial expressions. I look just like my mom, who looks just like her mom did.
My 2nd child looks just like me. The other 3 don't.
