I truly don't understand paying a bank to use money. If I want something I save, I don't pay someone to use my money before I get it.
I am also compeltely debt free

Good for you. I do have credit cards because I get airplane miles or points for clothing stores I shop at but I am also debt free and I pay off my cards each month.

I want to pay mine off and only use them in emergencies...like a broken down car or we lose a source of income and we don't have enough in savings.

Mmmkay. Just bc someone has credit cards doesn't mean they're in debt. I have 2 and no debt. I use them to build up my credit.
