My DH was in a play about a Spelling Bee. It ran 3 nights. They would pull 3 audience members up on the stage and have them spell words with the cast. One was to be easy... Something they would get and sit down.
A Female Sheep...
EWE
On rehearsal night, they pulled the boyfriend of a cast member.
DH said "Please spell ewe".
He said "U"
The first night the person spelled it Yew.
The second and third night it was spelled You.
In rural Missouri I would assume they could spell ewe. Guess not.

lol. I could spell ewe.
It's irritating when I see people type EWE when they mean something is gross. That's "EW!"
(Oh, and AW is what you say when a baby is cute. AWE is to look upon something in wonder.)

Yes, I could spell ewe, but only if I was given the definition along with the word. Otherwise, I likely would've spelled it "you".

1 mom liked this
Did they specify that it was a female sheep? Or did they just say "Spell 'ewe'"?

If they defined it or used it in a sentence I would have gotten it.

Each one asked for the definition and for it to be used in a sentence. They knew what it was. They just couldn't spell it.
