Anyone ever been to one ? I made reservations for my so and I in may at Gary Danko in San Francisco and now I'm second guessing it because I've never been to a 5 star restaurant.

I've dined at 5 star restaurants a few times, and quite honestly, I don't like it. I'm probably not the best person to ask because I have food and digestive issues and the last 3 times I've eaten at one, I've been sick.

It depends on the restaurant...I've been where the food and ambiance knock your socks off and also where it's stuffy and the chef insists on boring 'tried and true' menus...

YES but only twice in my life! NICE... was fun. Got to wear a dress, glam up- try out what it would be like to be THAT rich so one would go there all the time... I wish! I could get used to it in a big hurry.
