Give the 7month old nothing but Coke and crackers

Are you kidding me!! My cousin just posted on Facebook about her baby throwing up for the third time today. Her daughter is 7 months old. People are actually on there telling her not to give the baby anything except for Coke and crackers.

What!?!?

I've heard that for adults and older kids, but never for a baby that age. SMH.

7 month old, no...I do it with my older kids, though...it's a Southern thing, I think...

Flat coke (stir the bubbles out with a fork) settles the stomach...

It shouldnt be any sodas...they dehydrate you more. If anything it should be:

Pedilyte (sp)
Gatorade or powerade (both give electrolytes same as the pedi)
Or if they wont drink popsicles.

I drink Coke to settle my stomach (Never heard the thing about stirring out the bubbles though.)

That's what I told her to do. She's probably giving her the Coke though.

Perhaps a call to the doctor would be a better choice??

Sheesh!!

Poor kiddo!  I hope she feels better soon.

And I hope your cousin didn't take that advice!!

Is the baby breastfed? If so, she just needs to nurse through it...otherwise, offer some pedialyte and lots of cuddles.
