Homeschooling..

So.... are you going to home work your children when they're adults? In most cases, I just don't understand why parents choose to homeschool children who are mentally and physically able to attend public or private school. As a self titled "extreme" crunchy attachment parent, I think that homeschooling is (in most cases) a big box of crazy. School is a very, very important irreplaceable life step.. there is a real world out there and HS will not prepare your child for it. I have any least 15 friends with 6-17 year old HS children - I've seen the outcome. These children are so disadvantaged and handicapped by their parents' decision to HS.

Because they can. It's their choice how to educate their child.

I was homeschooled from age 8 until my mother passed when I was 14 and self-taught myself until graduation in December. My mother decided to try homeschooling me because I had severe anxiety. I loved it and even if I could have returned to school, I didn't want to. All six of my other siblings went to public school, including my twin sister. I was well-socialized, well-educated and happy. Homeschooling is an art.

LOL you are funny.

I mean, seriously, we home school for disability reasons.

But even without those reasons, I wouldnt have it any other way.

The only reason home schooling doesnt work, is if it is done incorrectly.

Really, you are violently opposed to homeschooling, having never done it and knowing nothing abou it, yet you have "15 friends" who have homeschooled, all with bad results?

Well, you need to get out more.  You might not meet them....their kids are all at Harvard, MIT and Stanford, taking the spots that those schooled in the public schools could not attain.
