Why is it. (Might cause a debate)

Posted by Anonymous   + Show Post

Why is it that black history month is celebrated but if I wanted a "white history month" its racist.

Girls in boy scouts is fine but no boy could join girl guides (Canadians)

Gay pride parades every year but if I teach heterosexual families I am bigoted.

Schools can teach about all religions and all holidays but not about Christmas

That there can be "Black Beauty pageants" where no whites are allowed but if someone tried to do a White only pageant they would be sent to court.

In my sons gymnastics class and a black child went in front of Connor for an activity (no big deal) Mom was beside me (didn't know I was mom) and mumbled  "good job we never go in back put the cracker in the back" I turned to her totally surprised but didn't say anything. What would have happened if I used the N word?

I am sorry for the past I really am...but how much longer are we supposed to bend over backwards for what our ancestors did??

Oh and learn the bloody language of the country you are moving to!

Okay so I will get chewed out for this. But before you do. I have friends of all colours I am not racist I am just tired of being treated like a second class citizen by those that claim they are.

Vent over

-.-

There are historical reasons for everything that you mentioned for blacks. You clearly don't really want to know them because you can easily look them up yourself. You'd probably still not give a damn anyway.

In fact, if you really need to ask questions about the majority of the things you're talking about and not just automatically see why these things are in existance... Nothing anyone tells you here will matter anyway.

People joke about indian casinos, jews being money hungry lawyers, but if anyone says one freaking thing about black people we are racist.
Piss off.

Where are all the indian parades and months and contests????
My grandparents were slaughtered like cattle. Babies left on the ground to freeze to death. Women raped and tortured.
Slaves had it bad. But honestly there is no comparison. Settlers tried to eradicate my people.

Unless you are referring to the color of a wall, the words "black" and "white" should not be said AT ALL!

Agree. All races complain about their struggles, but really they do not have it half bad.

I agree.

No one who owned slaves is alive. No one who was a slave is alive. So therefor no one should feel entitled over slavery nor should anyone apologize for slavery.

Yes.  I am white. However, while black people in America where slaves...my ancestors were starving during the potato famine in Ireland.  My ancestors did not own slaves. Hell, my ancestors didnt own food.

Yes. It has been a long road to equality for black people. No doubt. But black men had the right to vote before any women. Should I say that I have been repressed because I am a woman? No. I have the same rights as men. Black people have the same rights as white people.

Black people have a better chance at succeeding in life. If they choose to do so. For college there are scholarships open only to black people. And, of course, they can apply for the scholarships open to everyone. In jobs, companies are required to hire a certain percentage of minorities.

Not counting the actual racist rednecks....black people keep racism alive more than anyone else. Instead of taking a look at their own behavior, the racism card will be played above all else. Yes, in some situations there is truth in it. But in a lot of cases...not so much.

As a white person, I get tired of having to walk on eggshells for fear of being called racist. I should be able to dislike you..not based on the color of your skin but on the content of your character.  I cant stand someone saying that I dislike them because they are black. No, I dislike you because you are a bitch.

Of course, I am not speaking of all black people. I am speaking of a majority of black people in my area, though. The ones who went to the same schools that I did. The ones who were doing stupid shit while I was trying to find scholarships that I was eligible for. The ones who didnt apply to the scholarships that I, as a white person, could not apply for. They should take responsibility for their own lives instead of blaming everyone else.
