Mom Confessions Mom Confessions

Why do we do this? Is it a Hispanic thing?

On Easter, my family celebrates with confetti eggs (there's a Spanish word for it, but I don't know how to spell it). We run after people and crack the eggs on peoples heads. The eggs are usually filled with confetti, but sometimes with glitter, and one year flour.

Does anyone know what the story behind this tradition is? Do you do this? I have never thought about the meaning of it until just now.

We did it growing up in Texas, but my Puerto Rican family nor my Nicaraguan family have ever done it.
