Mirena - WTH

Ever had an IUD?

I chose the Mirena 5 year... and I've put on 17 stubborn lbs that won't relent. I have always been active, including losing all the baby weight and running races with my kiddo and the jogging stroller 2 months after he was born.

I've only been this hungry once, and I was pregnant. (No, not pregnant again, I'm sure).

My clothes aren't fitting and I refuse to buy any that are bigger. I have been the same size before, and then 3 months after, having a baby. This means war.

Any advice?

I've had mine in for about 5 years now. Same experience. Plumped up, and I can't lose this weight no matter what I do. Totally sucks, lol.

I lasted 9 months on the mirena before taking it out. It was hell.

I did and it was the worst choice of my life. Get it out asap is my advice.

It won't go away. I had mine in for almost a year (I think) and I always felt bloated, bled a lot and was hormonal all the dang time. I hated it, and won't be getting one again. Ever. As soon as it was taken out of me I felt like I could run a marathon and was no longer bloated and the weight came right off.

I had mine taken out and lost an immediate 15 lbs. I was also hot all the time and that stopped too. I didn't like it.

Lol. Ok. I feel better now knowing it's not just me.

I eat a clean diet, restrict calories and workout. This is just nuts. I've had it almost 9 months. This is the heaviest I've ever been and it's crazy frustrating.

Get off the mirena and get on the Paraguard (it's a non hormonal birth control that is good for 10-12 years). I HATED being on Mirena
