Mom Confessions Mom Confessions

Would you tell her or let her figure it out on her own?

If Girly gets a 100 on her spelling test I let her play electronics an hour earlier than normal, 9 times out of 10 when she does get a 100 she will be playing outside or with her toys and the time passes and she doesn't realize it.

She's 7 and can tell time.

So should I start reminding her when she can play her iPhone or should I just wait until she realizes it?

Leave it be. If she would rather play outside, there is no need to offer electronics.

Why would you remind her? Unless she asks you to remind her I would let her play outside or with toys. Its a good thing she isn't obsessed with electronics.

That's how I feel, I'd much rather she play with chalk outside or on the trampoline than play with her iPhone but at the same time I feel bad because I did tell her she could play an hour earlier.

Let her play and maybe roll some over on the days when it's not nice enough to play outside

If she is happy playing outside or with other non-electronic toys, leave her be. If she mentions it, let her have her iPhone. I would prefer my kids to play with non-electronic toys or outside weather permitting.
