at what point is it unacceptable to be a sahm?

does being one means the woman has a bad character for allowing her husband to handle all the financial responsibilities? Or should she contribute to the household' finances (she should also work) regardless of if they can afford for her to stay home or not?

This post is confusing. When I was a sahm, I was in charge of paying all the bills and making most of the financial decisions.

A Well yeah, but i meant in terms of he woman working instead of being a sahm. I can take care of all the bills, but i am not making the money to pay them, so technically my hubby is financially responsible.

I think people should do whatever works for them and their family... simple as that.

**Oh.. misread. If they can't afford it then no.. she shouldn't stay home.

I strongly feel that if you cant afford it you shouldn't be doing it. That philosophy goes towards this subject as well as many many others. Being a SAHM is a privilege not a right.

Not for everyone

The only time I think it's unacceptable is if you are dirt poor. If you can't afford food it's time to go back to work.

All parents should support their children. No deadbeat moms and no deadbeat dads.

I agree especially those that use the bible and men being the head as an excuse
