how would u feel if ur child came to you and told u they were gay/or a lesbian?

i know everyone has their own views and opinions..i am just wondering how you would react as a parent..i am not trying to offend anyone. just simply asking.

me personally, i would make my child understand that i would ALWAYS

accept them no matter what decision they make. i don't care if my kid is straight/gay/bi-sexual/trans-sexual/whatever they want. i will never look at them as different or with a "problem" or anything. i will always love my child no matter who they choose to be with..

i know there is alot of ppl out there that wont ever accept the LGBT community..i just wonder how u would feel if ur child came to you and told u they were gay/lesbian.. how would u react..what would u say to them.?

honest opinions please..

I wouldn't even bat an eye. I would be 100% ok with it.

It would be hard. there would be a period of sorrow that I would go through. Of course I support them and all that jazz...but that doesn't mean it wouldn't be hard.

I would hug them, and then ask what they wanted for dinner.

Probably be a little shocked but accept it.

I would say, "Ok.  Awesome.  Did you finish cleaning your room?"

By that, I mean that it wouldn't even phase me.  It would be like my child telling me they were straight.  Ok.  It's a non-issue.  If my teen has a boyfriend one week, then they break up and three weeks later they have a girlfriend... it wouldn't even phase me.

He's only 5 but honestly I wouldnt be all that shocked, and would be totally accepting. DH agrees. His BioDad, on the other hand, would probably blame me for turning him that way since I allow him to have 'pink and purple' as his favorite colors, and teach him how to cook *eyeroll*

I wouldn't care one way or the other.
