so they asked you to watch their 5 yr old while they go out to dinner. update

Posted by Anonymous   + Show Post
They drop her off at 4:30, after they leave you realize they never told you what time they would pick her up, their phones are off at what time would you expect them back,

Update, they got back at 10:30, they decided to go to a friends house after, and figured their daughter was having fun and was safe, they did finally text me at 10, saying they did not realize phone was off. .I told them although I love your daughter and will watch her again. I do feel disrespected and next time. We need to communicate a pick up time

I babysit my paster's kids all the time, without being told when he'll be coming back, and i never ask. i know that whomever it is will come home, so i'm never concerned, and i never make plans after i've been asked to babysit just in case.

Anyone I babysit for I could careless when they come back and encourage them just to let the kid/s stay the night. That said though 5 hours seems like more than enough if you weren't given a heads up.

This part is freaking me out.  Dd is 5.

Anytime we have a friend watch her, they are not only left with a signed print out giving permission for them to authorize medical treatment if needed, copies of our insurance card, and both of our phone numbers, but also the phone numbers to the places we expect to be going.

I couldn't enjoy my dinner if I knew I was completely inaccessible to my kid.

Doesn't seem like they're very good friends of yours.

If a GOOD friend dropped off her child, it wouldn't matter.

Lmao! I'm 27 and I like to have dinner no later than 530! So 430 is a very reasonable time to have dinner. That's generally when my family eats when I cool too.

LoL, I do!

I always get seated right away, and my food is generally ready by 5.  Then I can leisurely enjoy my meal and maybe even have a little dessert.

Perfect for catching a 7:00 movie afterwards.
