contractions about 7 min apart.........advice pls

Posted by   + Show Post

im having some good contractions. last about a min, strong ones, the kind that make decent "hills"  when they are monitoring you.

but they are spaced out 7-10 min apart. i am reclined in the recliner, and have had 5  strong contractions in the last half hour or so.

how do i know if its the real deal?

No, it's like her fourth...of course she gives half of them away.

Quoting BeAmour:

damn, I didn't even know you were pregnant!

Go lay down on your side and see if they go away.

If you can't talk through them, go in.

Is this your first?

THIS!!

Quoting jojo_star:

Drink a few big glasses of water and lay down for an hour, making sure to time the contractions. If they get closer, remain steady, or your water breaks, go to the hospital, if not, it's not time yet.

It feels like super bad menstral cramps

Your belly will get super rock hard for 45 seconds or less then relax.

They need to be less than five mins apart

Bloody show doesnt mean labor. i had contractions for like a month that where on and off and 2 weeks before i had my son they where strong but they didnt last long. On April 8th or more like April 9th (after midnight of april 8th) my water broke. i had no bloody show or mucus plug coming out. as soon as the water broke my contractions where strong. i took a warm bath, then just walked around the house in pain lol until the midwife came (homebirth) i got in my birthing pool and felt better but as the hours rolled the contractions where on top of one another. i had no time to rest or breath. it was nuts. i was in labor for 11 hours.

When I was pregnant my OB said 10 contractions at five minutes apart in an hour means get to the hospital.

My mom, who has been teaching Chilbirthing classes for the last 40 years, always says to walk....according to her, walking will either  bring labor on, or make it stop, depending on what your body is ready for.

I'd call the doc and see what he/she has to say....at least make them aware, in case you have to call in the wee hours of the morning.
