Consult a doctor. Depending on how much he's taking you may be able to take it away. It depends on how much he has. If he has a gallon bag full; you CAN throw a lot of it away. But definately call a doctor. And ask what can be done. He has to detox somehow. You can get him into a clinic, or take him to the er.

I can't dump his pills, that type of withdrawl could potentially kill him. I know he has to wean off.. (believe me, dumping them was my first thought but then I read about it) I'm trying to calm down and gather my thoughts and find info before having a talk

Quoting Anonymous:

Call him on it; dump the pills; tell him you're standing by him and want to help him. Get him into a meeting; and get him into a counselor.

I married a man who was a porn addict. When He proposed I told him we were done with this. We canceled our internet and dish; we went to basic phones. The only computer he used for 10 months was his work one; he works for a gov't agency so he can't look it up at work. I took him to 3 meetings a week; and we went into counseling 1 day a week. I was with him whenever he wasn't at work. I stayed up with him at night until he could sleep. It was hard; it is hard. But our relationship is amazing because we have both seen the worst and the best in eachother. And we came through it.

If he's worth it; walk through it with him. If it's not worth it then walk away now.

I've heard of people sticking together and beating it.. I know its not impossible, just need ideas of how to help him..

Quoting muzzyh:

The only way to help him is to walk away from him. I'm sorry.

Idk if his dr would talk to me? Isn't that illegal? I read that stopping cold Turkey can cause seizures..

Quoting Anonymous:

That's a lot. I would tell you to have him stop cold turkey but the kilopin withdrawals are a bitch. I was on 2 MG's and missed two days. It was really really bad. Since he is taking so much he is going to have to be weaned off of the stuff. You should call his doctor asap tomorrow. Good luck

Quoting Anonymous:

I've had xanax for my anxiety too.. but he's taking upwards of 8-10 (.5mg)klonopin a day and 3-4 (1mg) xanax a day..

My dh is a recovering addict. He hasn't used in over 2 1/2 years. We take it one day at a time. He has a great job and is being promoted to supervisor. Plus if he does slip up he knows he could loose everything including us.

I take xanax twice a day but I'm not addicted to it. Its for my anxiety

you can only help him if he wants help.   If he wants help then you support him through it and find the local programs for him.  If he does not want help you deal with it  until he does or walk away.

A boyfriend I loved dearly was hooked on pot and cocaine, but he couldn't give it up so I couldn't stay with him.  He OD about 2 years later and I still feel guilty.  He had been cutting back while we were together (I don't use any type of drug, including alcohol) then he started using heavily again wen we broke up.
