Dd8 came home from school and handed me an Avon catalog and said 'here, my bus driver told me to give this to you'
Ok. Well that was slightly off putting.
Is it just me or does it seem inappropriate to solicit your business through children while working at your other job??

Depends on what's in the catalog.

 Hmm..

I don't know, I would have tossed it aside and not thought about it again...

If I really loved Avon products I probably would have appreciated it, and not minded helping support the bus driver.

I'm not gonna report it. But I'm not buying anything either. Mainly because If I did want something, mil has a friend that sells.
I'm just wondering if anyone has heard of this, or if its unusual, how would that exchange even take place? What if someone orders a crap load of stuff... Is she gonna be delivering on her route?

throw it away if it offends you. unless there's a rule against it, there's not harm being done

I did not think school employees were allowed to do give the kids materials for solicating sales for businesses that were not part of a fundraising event. I would tell the principal of the school about it if you are not comfortable with it. We have a couple of ladies in my neighborhood who sell and they either leave the book by the front door or stick it in the mailbox.

Maybe the driver confused your child with another child whose mom asked for the catalog.
