My son is 3.5 months and has only had breast milk...until today.

I was eating an avocado and i was curious so i took a very small piece, mashed it really well and mixed in some breast milk (like 2/3 milk to 1/3 avocado) and put some on my finger tip and let him taste it. He seemed to like it so i let him eat all that i made..less than a teaspoons worth.

Now im worried. I know it was so stupid..did i just hurt his little tummy?? I dont plan to let him have anything besides b milk again until hes at least 6months.

Probably not. He will more than likely be ok.

The news this morning has been reporting about a new study that finds people who feed their children solids to early open their kids up to a host of issues as adults. It is not going to hurt him, but why rush?

I wouldn't worry. If it upsets his tummy he'll just throw it up. It'll be messy, but he'll be fine, IMO.

3.5 months is really, really young.  I don't even like starting my kids on solids until they are 6 months, per the AAP recommendations.  It's not going to "hurt" him, but it might cause his belly to get upset. Solid foods at such a young age can be really hard to digest.  All he needs is breastmilk. :)

I was planning to wait until 6 months and doing baby led solids...
