Hollow points are designed to cause more damage. The mushrooming effect certainly assists in this. If I needed to protect myself, I would certainly use bullets that cause rapid blood loss and destroyed tissue and organs more quickly. No wonder :-).

My husband and I have been trying to figure that out for a few months.

There is no reason for homeland security to need them. Why are they so worried about protecting themselves to that extreme. None of the armed forces have even used them or trained with them even.

The same reason they need armored trucks and millions of cheap coffins. It's pretty damn obvious if people will pull thier heads out of the sand for 2 min and LOOK at what is going on around them.
