I'm sitting at the courthouse waiting to be called back. Dd16 refuses to go to school. In SC it's mandatory until 17. I take her to school and drop her off. She will leave and come home on the bus. I'm at my wits end and will not take the fall for her. She is going to cause me to have a stroke. I just know it.

So I take it your state has the type of truency laws that saw it is the parents fault if the kid doesn't go?

Why won't she go? I wonder what the court can do that you aren't doing? I am NOT saying that this is your fault, I just wonder how they can actually MAKE her go...

Goo luck!

I agree with pp. Look into tarheel challenge academy its in salemburg nc. 22 weeks she gets her fed and they will help her get into college, job corp, or the military.

Wow! Sorry mama! I consider myself lucky to have gotten my dd to 18 without killing her. Hugs!

Thats one law that made no sense to me. How can a parent be held at fault when they take the kid to school an as far as u know they are there. What they do after u drop them off u have no clue. Are u suppose to walk them to each and every class? Isnt that was school security iss there for to make sure the kids are going to class andnot skipping off campus?
