Mom's with kids with ADHD.

I got a form/checklist for my son. They think he might have ADHD. If he does, fine, but I don't think my son needs meds. So before I turn the paperwork in, I will be calling to let them know my stance on medications. I also called & left a message for my son's pedi asking for his support with my decision.

Am I wrong to do this? I think I know my son better than anyone & really think drugs would be unnecessary. He's a very hyper kid...but can be managed with redirection.

Opinions?

no youre not. a lot of parents are opting out of medz these days. which is good. my ds was on meds for a few months. it was the wrong one, and dosage, but the place i was taking him to was not stable. we're slowly working toward something now though.
