rapists wife wants visitation

Mothers husband started raping me when I was 14 and stopped when I was 17(I told my mother when I was 15 and she took him over me) and got pregnant. I found out when i was three months and just ignored it, hoping it would go away. He found out I was pregnant when he went to rape me. That night he tried to beat me to death. I got away and he was put in jail for 15 years. Him and my mother got legally married after that (while he was in jail). So i cut my mother out of my life completely. I got married a year later, dd is three(she thinks dh is her bio dad and as far as I'm concerned, he is) and I'm pregnant(9 weeks). Dh is also deployed.

Ten minutes ago, i got a call from my uncle saying mothers husband was murdered in jail and that my mother is going for visitation of her STEP DAUGHTER(her words). He told me that he wanted to give me a heads up before i get blind sided. He also offered to pay any legal fees that might come from this. Can you fucking believe that? Can she do this? My uncle said that she was just trying to make me suffer. I've been trying to google this but haven't came up with any answers. Do grandparents have any rights? She married that monster. Does she have any rights? His parental rights were terminated and Dh legally adopted dd. Please help. I'm overwhelmed.

I want to thank you women so much for your kind words and answers!

I see no way in Hell that a judge will give her any visitation rights for that!Do you know what the Grandparent laws are in your state?

I wouldn't think so..even if your state had grandparents rights..given the history if it can be proven she shouldn't have a leg to stand on.

She has no rights... none. I do worry for your little girl though.

Hugs and good thoughts. I hope this goes away with no blow up.

She's the step parent, I really don't believe she has a leg to stand on.

Btw, I'm so sorry you went through that and that your mother is such a cunt.

His rights were terminated. And as far as gp rights, she has never met your dd right? So no
No lawyer would even take her case

Oh...my...god! I'm so sorry. As far as I know grandparents do have rights but I'm not sure what the deal would be considering your special circumstances.

find a lawyer, that would be your best bet to keep her out of your life and away from your dd
