I just read the organ donation post. I was on the bone marrow donation list when called up i declined. I still think about what if I would have... It's been 5 years

I was young (21) still partying, traveling, and having fun, the procedure was going to put me out for to long, is what I thought at the time. I got on the list right after I turned 19.

No I mean I would have been the donor to someone else who needed it.

I would of denied it too, bone marrow donations are painful.

Oh. Well I hope that they were able to find another match for that person.

I heard that alot to, my mom never wanted me to be on the donation registry to begin with, neither did anyone in my family. I had been donating blood since I was 18 once a year regularly and when approached I thought it was a great idea.

Me to! It's been years but every once in a while the thought haunts me. I haven't been called since so who knows if that discredited me permanently.

Wow. Why did you get on the registry in the first place? I can't imagine how guilty I would feel. Hopefully you dont find yourself or your child in the position you put that recipient.
